 🏐🏑On the pitch this week
We didn’t get any pics of our amazing Little Devils last week with the weather impacting training ! But we will catch them this evening hopefully 🤞

Our U7 footballers started the day on Saturday travelling to Ballyteague 👏

And our U9 footballers headed to St Kevin’s for a great game 👏
With a number of our senior footballers unavailable last Saturday and as Ballykelly were unable to play any night this week, we had to concede our last league game.  After making good progress over the last 4 months, our management did not want to end this term on a low so we had a challenge game v Manor Kilbride on Monday night.  23 players togged out and they secured their first win on a scoreline 5-12 to 0-10.  The team are preparing now for the championship which will get underway in the next few weeks.💪💪

Over in Clane the first of our two hurling games got underway with our div 4 team playing Maynooth – super skills from all our players on show – leading at half time, the boys won 4-7 to 3-3.🏆👏👏

Then over on the main pitch the div 1 game v Naas got underway , leading at half time by 1-6 to 0-4, we were in for a nervous 2nd half and a fantastic display of grit and determination from the team who never gave up winning by 2 points -  2-8 to 1-9.👏🏆👏

The support our club gave to these teams was amazing🤩. The hill on the main pitch in Clane was packed with Ardclough supporters and it was great to see them all back at the club for some big celebrations and a penalty shoot out in the Munster Final saw a late night for some !

Captains on the day Patrick Corcoran of the D4 team and joint captains Ronan Fitzpatrick and Ged Lawlor from the D1 team.

Then as the U12s got stuck into their celebratory pizza , down the road the U13 girls were playing their div 1 final against neighbours Celbridge. An amazingly strong performance from this very talented group of footballers, well done🏆🎉  Great to have another celebration in the clubhouse that night and more pizza !! Well done to the team and coaches  👏👏
Sunday was an early start for our U10s who got their game v Maynooth in at 9am !! It was time for the annual picture before setting off on our buses to Croke Park🤩

In years to come we’ll wonder why Tony isn’t in any of the pics but was always there !

Our annual Croke Park trip is always a fantastic day in the club calendar but what an extra special day to see Kildare lift the Joe McDonagh Cup for the 1st time.

And even better to see our own Tim Ryan and Richie Hoban when they came over to the Ardclough crew in the Hogan stand !!

Extra curry chips and treats for the Kilkenny v Galway game and then back to the club for more celebrations for the Kilkenny fans amongst us 🎉 Cill Dara Abú!

Monday saw our U13 hurlers on the road again down to Ballinakill Ballypickas for their last league game in Laois. The win sees them finish 2nd in division 2. We await the semi final dates , well done 👏👏

On Wednesday our U11 camogs were delighted to welcome Coill Dubh for a great match and treats for everyone at the end. 👏👏

Finally a huge well done to the U17 Straffard girls winning their league last night🏆👏👏👏

📃Club Notes
Huge thanks to everyone who sends in content for the weekly club notes. There would be no notes without the work going on around the club and the coaches and club members and supporters who send in photos and news.

If you would like an item included in our Club Notes please email secretary.ardclough.kildare@gaa.ie and we will include it.

We loved looking back at that photo from 2016 of the first trip to Croke Park (not 1996 , some very bad maths there for those who saw an early version of club notes😵‍💫) so flash back this week thanks to Victoria Dowling one of our amazing U8 hurling mentors who found this photo of our current U14 hurlers, we think when they were U8 !

If you have some old photos from previous teams send them onto club notes - secretary.ardclough.kildare@gaa.ie
