As Go Games finish this weekend we want to say a massive thank you to our Go Games Referees. There were over 90 games played home and away in the spring Go Games leagues across camogie, LGFA, football and hurling plus challenge games and blitz. None of these can take place without our referees and we were delighted to see some new faces this year as well as some rock solid refs in their 3rd or 4th years. It’s great experience and is open to anyone 15+ to do an online course and then a face to face course. Email secretary.ardclough.kildare@gaa.ie for more information.
Thanks to Emma , Matthew, Robyn , Grace, Sean, Grace Dunne, Grace Finneran, Harry, Lila , and Eoin 👏👏👏 Hope we have everyone

🏐🏑On the pitch this week
Our younger members are on the wind down for summer with Go Games finishing last weekend or this weekend. For our older members its summer league, great to have everyone out playing games just for fun and to meet up with friends and for our Senior Players its championship time 🏆
Last Friday was a great night at training for our young hurlers as Sean and Darragh brough the division 2 and 3 trophies to training. Loads of questions for our captains and lots of trophies on head photos ! Thanks to Sean and Darragh for coming down and inspiring the next generation.
Saturday was a glorious day as our two St Edward’s teams headed to Clane for their division 7 and division 2 finals. Our div 7 team were up first on the main pitch against Confey and in a very tight game with a point or two in it during the whole game, the team lost by 2 points in the end on a score of 2-12 to 6-2. They played amazing and gave it their all, we are very proud of all our players. Over on the back pitch the division 2 game got underway against Monasterevan, great game, another very tight match until the 2nd half when we scored 3 goals to finish 3-9 to 0-15 .
Huge well done and it was another well spent evening celebrating in the clubhouse. We are really looking forward to championship with 3 teams entered more games for everyone.
It was a great treat to have our triumphant😉 Straffard Mothers and Others team back from their blitz in Bray Emmets with the prosecco iced and ready for them.👏👏🍾🥂
On Sunday our U8 hurlers travelled to Leixlip with amazing skills on show, official photo below !
And our U10s travelled to neighbours Éire Óg Corra Choill for their final Go Games fixture.
Monday saw our U13 hurling team travel to Laois for their semi-final against Barrow Gaels , a tight game and after extra time the score 2-14 to 4-10. Hard luck to the team. You represented your club in a different county so well, finishing top of your division and reaching a semifinal, we are very proud of you all. 👏👏👏
It was a week of parties as our groups finished up training for a break for a few weeks. Our U11 Straffard girls got treats from coaches Brendan, Rob, Scott, Paddy and Fiona on Monday for their last night.👏👏
On Tuesday our camógs had an amazing party thanks to our fab parents who baked and brought drinks and treats, enough for the team and our U13 camógs and the boys !
On Wednesday our U14 St Edwards team played in Straffan against Raheens, great game of football.👏👏 Over in Ardclough ....the treat of all treats – an ice cream🍦🍦🍦 van for our amazing young footballers. Little Kickers getting 1st go ! 🥺
Football Chairman Dermot and Little Kickers coach Siobhan on hand to do quality checks on the ice-cream 😉🍦
Then back to hurling for our U14s who play on Wednesday against Coill Dubh at home and Maynooth away.

While there will be no club notes for a few weeks the action and the work continues (there's no holidays for the GAA! or committee members) so keep an eye on our Instagram , Facebook , X (Twitter) and Clubzap for all the news.
Club notes hopefully has given our club members an update on all the hard work behind the scenes in our fantastic club. Thank you to everyone who has sent in photos and content. We have had a really busy first half of the year😮💨
Each team picture shows our amazing players, but behind it are the coaches who give up their evenings and weekends to attend coaching courses, do team sheets, wash jerseys, plan training, co ordinate with other clubs. The list is endless. And our parents who plan their life around a GAA calendar making sure everyone gets to where they need to be.
From our lotto committee, to our sports committees, to Martin and Ann Marie in the bar, our referees, our fundraising committee, and our Executive - we are team off the pitch and on.
We hope everyone has a great summer break and we'll see you all on a side-line over the next few weeks ! And definitely on Saturday for the hurling championship !
