Ireland Lights Up 2023 – Every Step Counts!
As part of the “Ireland Lights Up” campaign, the GAA in partnership with Irish Life are again running the “Healthy Clubs Steps Challenge” through their MyLife health app.
And for 2023 Ardclough GAA are signing up!!
The aim of the campaign is to support participants in taking care of their physical health and mental wellbeing. Choosing to walk more often as part of our daily commute or as recreation has huge benefits and the “Every Step Counts” campaign brings the community together while potentially winning a prize for the GAA club.
An incredible 28,000 participants tracked their steps through the MyLife app in January 2022, with three clubs in each province winning prizes totalling €5,000.
What’s involved
From 11th January - 15th February 2023 we're asking GAA club and community members to hit our 4,000km target (that's roughly the distance around Ireland!) to be entered into our O'Neills Prize Draw. There are 3x O'Neills vouchers up for grabs in each province - €2,500, €1,500 & €1,000.
Ardclough GAA is registered and everyone is welcome to get involved - friends, family and community members don't have to be a member of Ardclough GAA club to take part. Simply join the team on MyLife and help Ardclough GAA hit that 4,000km target! You can run, walk, jog, whatever it takes to accumulate or exceed the target distance as a team. And remember, every step counts.
The key message is to enjoy the exercise and challenge yourself in the window from 11th January to 15th February.
How do I sign up?
1. Download the MyLife app from the App store or Google Play store.
2. Register your details.
3. Tap on the social tab on the MyLife app.
4. Select challenges.
5. Select Leinster GAA.
6. Click Join & select Ardclough GAA
7. Final step go to the TRACK tab, choose tracking devices/Apps and select which tracker you would like to use.
The App will track all of your individual steps as you connect to the challenge on your daily / routine exercise and also consolidate all of the steps within the "Ardclough GAA "team.
